Hi all its been a while since my last post between moving ,family reunions and school transfers there has not been much time to blog.We decided to stay home today to bypass the freezing cold and rain and just have church at home. Since we are taking our sabbath day rest I decided this would be a good time to blog. As I said before we stayed home and had home church which meant I had to come up with a bible lesson plan for my two young children so they wouldn't spend the day running amuck .I thought I would share that lesson with you just in case you ever need a quick spur of the moment lesson plan. I decided to go with the wiseman and the foolish man.

I gathered some props to go with the story .I like to use visuals and props it helps to keep the kids engaged in the story. The props I used were tools like toy hammers, saws, wood blocks. First we had prayer then we read the memory verse (found on website above)next we read the story . I read it to them and let them use the props after the story we sang :The wise man built his house upon the Rock.
You should be able to find this song online if you don't already know it. Do a google search.Then I let the kids build their own houses with blocks you can use wood blocks, duplos, legos etc. make sure they build a platform first out of the blocks to serve as the rock Jesus Christ that they will build their house on . when they were done with this.I got out a gingerbread house I had left over from christmas that we never got to use . this was our house built on the rock the rock being the tray it was on the kids decorated the house giving them a tangible hands on application of the bible story.
